lol not sure this is "ambient" it's kinda weird and the piano sounds like ass but that's probably what you were going for and it works for some reason lmfao. nice job
Lol thanks my dude
haha nice fan remake.
maaaayybe a bit much on the sidechain but solid none the less :p
Back on Track was always my fav GD official song
Ok so. First of all... You pulled in so many sounds, used so many effects, modulations, gyrations, bippitybopboopers and stuff. And it doesn't sound like shit... so big props to you.
Let me start with what I love about this track.
The atmosphere you have going is a consistent dark one, you go from ominous to that filthy bass.. Ew... I love it.
Everything jives so wonderfully!
The "chord progression" in the breaks are really well done, and the doubletime bit you have in there still fits in the track well.
That last drop transition is absolutely delicious!!! I had to replay it like 9 times lol hope you're proud of that one.
All that being said... The mixing/mastering on this track kind of lets it down. It's not it bad, per say, but a better master on this track would take it from "almost full stars" to 100/10
Maybe you fully intended every single second to sound the way it does, in which case let me know.
But if you want to hear my thoughts: here they are.
It's a bit muddy at times, the different tracks/instruments could be leveled better, and the mixing on the drums is probably the worst part of the track.
Muddy mixes can be cleaned up nicely by reducing frequency overlap as much as possible.
Any sounds that are heavy in any frequency will fight to drown each other out. i.e.
Your bass and kick drum both have low frequencies, and will try to cancel each other out.
Your choir/pads have too much mid in them, and will try to cancel out etc.
a tiny bit of sidechain on the instruments to make your drums pop a little bit more would be nice all around the board.
That was a lot of words lol.
Well done! Gave this one a fav (:
4.5/5 - 9/10.
