What do you use as a DAW?
I think I first heard your stuff when you started uploading, and... I'll just say that you've improved t o n s!
Whenever I listen to your more recent uploads, I am surprised at how good the mixing and sound design is. You seem to have found your groove, and you're rockin' that shit man.
No major complaints, this is 🔥 and I could deffs see it in a GMD level!
Deffs givin some sort of Acid Notation vibes here
Idk what the silence is at the end, if it's intentional, or you just let one of your tracks run for an extra 30 seconds, but that's an easy fix

Keep it up Oko :)

okogd responds:

Hello, I'm using fl studio now, and I started with fl studio mobile. And the 30 seconds at the end, it's because of the incorrect rendering setting.

Yo that porta lead is wild man
Clean mixing, simple overall design.
Bouncy track, well done, no major complaints!
The only thing I might have as a negative is that it is almost a bit repetitive at times, but I think that's also kinda built into the genre, and most likely what you were going for.
Whenever I review, I like to start with 5 stars, and then take away points for things that are off.
You get full 5 ^^
Nice track man :)

xxUltimaWeapon responds:

Thanks for the kind review man. I appreciate you taking the time and am glad you enjoyed!

no i clicked on it because it was the most recently published audio.
lol not sure this is "ambient" it's kinda weird and the piano sounds like ass but that's probably what you were going for and it works for some reason lmfao. nice job

ToastyBois responds:

Lol thanks my dude

Ok so. First of all... You pulled in so many sounds, used so many effects, modulations, gyrations, bippitybopboopers and stuff. And it doesn't sound like shit... so big props to you.
Let me start with what I love about this track.
The atmosphere you have going is a consistent dark one, you go from ominous to that filthy bass.. Ew... I love it.
Everything jives so wonderfully!
The "chord progression" in the breaks are really well done, and the doubletime bit you have in there still fits in the track well.
That last drop transition is absolutely delicious!!! I had to replay it like 9 times lol hope you're proud of that one.
All that being said... The mixing/mastering on this track kind of lets it down. It's not it bad, per say, but a better master on this track would take it from "almost full stars" to 100/10
Maybe you fully intended every single second to sound the way it does, in which case let me know.
But if you want to hear my thoughts: here they are.
It's a bit muddy at times, the different tracks/instruments could be leveled better, and the mixing on the drums is probably the worst part of the track.
Muddy mixes can be cleaned up nicely by reducing frequency overlap as much as possible.
Any sounds that are heavy in any frequency will fight to drown each other out. i.e.
Your bass and kick drum both have low frequencies, and will try to cancel each other out.
Your choir/pads have too much mid in them, and will try to cancel out etc.
a tiny bit of sidechain on the instruments to make your drums pop a little bit more would be nice all around the board.

That was a lot of words lol.
Well done! Gave this one a fav (:
4.5/5 - 9/10.
Looking forward to hearing more from you in the future!

- Plunger Licker
- Nihilism
- Alien Dance Battle
- Mutilationship

tysm for your feedback!

Okay, so, to start off... This has huge potential for something stunning. It might just be personal taste, but it seems something is slightly off in parts of the sound design, but I can't quite pinpoint it.
The atmosphere you have going is great.
I love the slow raunchiness of the track, the rhythm is super on point.
Love experimenting with new sounds! You did great ^^
The blank transitions are executed well. A lot of the time, when people try it, it seems like one track cuts out and another starts playing, but you managed to tie the segments together very well.
All in all, very good for a first entry on NG!
I'm going to scout you, which means that you'll get your music on the frontpage, and it'll get a lot more exposure.
A PSA... Your music can't be used in Geometry Dash unless you are specifically whitelisted by RobTop himself... which... yeah good luck lol.
Looking forward to hearing your future projects!

CL31R responds:

WOW thank you so much, I'm left speechless. Getting scouted on my first audio makes me happy. i'm glad you enjoyed the audio. I believe my sound design sounds a bit off, because i took the time to actually create and design the sounds on my own, I'm not the best sound designer ever, but I can promise you, i tried my very best to use authentic & self made sounds to call my very own in this project. I also created the song in a weird key. It's a gminor key, but i use f# in it, which kinda makes the audio sound off putting in my opinion. the F# in G minor tonicises the G, since F# is the leading note, and the F# makes chord 5 a major chord (D F# A), therefore, creating the tension and resolution of a (V-i). thanks for you scout & review. i will continue to put out more thoughtful projects & hope u do the same. If someone asks me to get my music on Geometry Dash, then i will seek out robtop to get whitelisted, but for now, i'm just here to create selfish art <3

Heya, saw your post on the Review Request Club page, happy I clicked on the link :)

Overall, I don't have any major complaints, it is good for what it is meant to be.
Would go well in the background of a game, I'd imagine.
It is fairly repetitious and does drag on for a while longer than maybe it could, but that is also kind of the style, so I wouldn't worry about it if that's what you're going for.

I was beginning to worry that I'd find nothing to critique your "loins" on, but then that snare came in at around the 3 minute mark. It sticks out like a sore thumb, too much high end, and a little too loud for the rest of the mix, it's an easy fix, just throw an EQ on there, and take out some high end, or turn it down a bit and you are golden.

I'll scout you for the Audio Portal, which basically means that your music will be put up on the board for anyone/everyone to see; it should help get you some more views :)

TrashCanRobot responds:

Right on! I really appreciate the listen and solid feedback. I did notice that the visualizer spiked in gain when those drums kicked in. I couldn't quite hear the difference for some reason, but im glad that you helped confirm that. Easy enough fix, just as you said. Mamy thanks for vetting for me and keep it up with the good tunes!

Holy. Crap. What?!?
Damn. Nice job Wonton.
Last I heard from you was Ants, so I was SO not expecting this.
5/5 really great use of instrumentation, nice rhythms, and the production is wonderful!
Love it!!

WontonSauce responds:

Thanks for comin back and checkin out my stuff! Appreciate the feedback!

Hey Q!
It's MRM3, I just got back on NG a bit ago after life had dragged me away from this community. So glad to see mah fav artist (you) is ...are?... still here and making great music! Literally music to my ears lmfao
Flawless work, as usual. I find it slightly frustrating when someone just keeps putting out pieces that I can't really criticize.
The atmosphere you maintain is really something. You create a void of something that seems like nothing to compose over, and I'm not exactly sure how you do it.
Still love your drums >.<
The Reeses are really well set in the track. A seeming chaotic energy that has been tamed, subdued and caged, raging and clawing for a grasp, yet obeying and playing along as you've arranged. It contrasts very nicely with the ambiance of the backdrop.
Hope life's treating ya well, and hope to keep hearing from ya!

Quarl responds:

Hey you, I suppose it has been a minute. Thank you so very much for the words. There's always a flurry of activity on Newgrounds so without an update like this I might not have realized you were absent until much later. At your age I'd suspect life to drag you away often, those early 20s can be rough and tumultuous. I got no complaints about life, my blog has all sorts of DIY projects constantly taking my attention but Jamuary means I'll be here everyday for at least the next month :D

Very glad to hear from you YayJay, and fun new name. I might not have caught it if you hadn't said something :3

Hey Khristi!!
:00
First off I’m jelly of the music man majesty
I want one so bad lol
Also first off I loved this!!!
Lovely leads, excellent mastering and structure!
Rushed for time, otherwise I’d leave a big delightful review complimenting all the components of this track!
Hope you’re well :)

KrinnValKhristi responds:

Hey dood happy holidays!

I am doing okay! I have had some medical problems but I am getting past them.

I am still writing and will be posting more music soon.

Glad you are still here!

From a compositional standpoint, you really nailed it here.
I love all of the harmonies, the chords you used, and the instrumentation you painted the chords with, and the melodies floating over them. 5/5
From a mastering standpoint, you're a good bit of the way there!
What's good: No clashing between instruments, no clipping, good instrument volume balance, good EQ across the track
What can be improved upon: dynamics within the track, accenting certain notes, bringing precussion and drums a little more into view, instead of being so far in the background
4/5
Total 9/10
Overall, really grand track, With a bit of mastering, this track could really blow my socks off. Really well done! I love how the track changes often enough to not become boring and repetitive, but stays constant enough to be thoroughly enjoyed on the whole journey!
Keep up the great work, looking forward to hearing more from you!

munyVGM responds:

Thank you so much for the feedback! I saw this instantly and went back into the original project in order to try and bring the drums out more (admittedly, I was lazy with the mixing on the drums so they were all processed as one track which was a big nono) and reuploaded the audio so hopefully now it'll sound clearer. It really warmed my heart to read your review and I'm so happy you enjoyed! :)
